CLINICS
Contraception / Family Planning
All aspects of contraception advice and care are provided at the surgery (apart
from coil fitting which is at present done at Grove Road clinic). This is all
provided in the strictest confidence. Most services are available from the doctors
during normal surgery hours, although the practice nurse also provides certain
aspects in her clinics.
Child Health Surveillance
This is provided by the doctor in conjunction with the health visitor. It is by
appointment only.
Maternity Care
All the doctors provide maternity services in conjunction with the Shirley team of
midwives and the consultants at Solihull and Heartlands Hospitals. It is your
choice where to have your baby once safety is considered.
Minor Surgery
Simple surgical procedures may be carried out by the doctors in the
surgery. The assistance of the nurse may be needed so a separate double appointment
may be necessary.
Non-NHS
Services
There are some services which are not covered by the NHS for which the doctor
will make a charge in line with BMA recommendations. This includes completing
private health insurance forms, passport forms, medicals for pre-employment, HGV
licences, sport etc. These fees are reviewed on a regular basis and a list can
be obtained from reception.
